OCR: Litmus Test: The litmus test is done with a small piece of paper that has been soaked in the juice of the litmus berry. Litmus paper turns red in acids and blue in bases. (Many berry juices change color when pH is changed including strawberry, rasberry and others.) pH Test: The pH of a solution is a measure of the concentration of hydrogen ions in that solution. It is defined as the negative log of the H+ concentration in mol/liter. pH can be determined by an electric pH meter or pH paper. A pH < 7 indicates an acid solution. A pH >7 indicates a basic solution. A pH =7 indicates a neutral solution, one in which the concentration of hydrogen ions is equal to the concentration of hydroxide ions. pH paper, like litmus paper, is a PH Meter small strip of absorbents paper soaked in indicator.
